Jack and Marie MacKay are the founders of the company called J.S. MacKay Heating Inc. They started a company in 1967, servicing and installing furnaces and water tanks. They worked very hard for many years. They were the largest Consumer’s Gas Contractor in the Niagara Region. In the early 1990’s, the structure of the Gas Company was changed, and the service side was sold off to Direct Energy.
Marie and Jack decided they could no longer operate as they were andso made a very brave decision which took great strength and determination to restructure and almost, start all over again. The company started to service and install, air conditioning at this time and they renamed the company, MacKay Heating and Cooling. Once again, Jack and Marie MacKay and now with their daughter Jean and with a strong team became a well known and trusted complete service heating and air conditioning company in Niagara. They worked very hard and rebuilt the company and established an incredible reputation.
In 2007, after all their hard work, they were tired and decided that they would like to start playing more golf. They had sure earned some time to relax and enjoy some retirement!! Jack and Marie invited Jamie and Andrew Blom to purchase the company. Jack and Marie were very concerned about the customers and the staff at Mackay Heating and Cooling.
They wanted to ensure they were all going to be treated and cared for as they had always done, as well as ensure future growth with all upcoming advances in technology, and thisrapidly changing world. Jack and Marie were confident in Jamie and Andrew’s abilities to be the new owners of their company as they had been friendly competitors. Jamie and Andrew Blom owned a smallerresidential company called Advanced Energies. Advanced Energies was in its infancy stages, but on the verge rapid growth. The next step to take on the reins of Mackay Heating and Cooling only made sense to all of them. What an incredible fit for all involved.
Andrew Blom, President: has been in the Heating and Air Conditioning Business since 1987. He is a third generation tradesman, bringing ahighly technical background to the company. Andrew’s passions lie in sustainable technology, like solar and geothermal combined heat and power, as well as highly energy efficient high end products. Andrew previously was an owner and Vice President of a large Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning Service and Installation Company. Andrew’s management style is to motivate people through compassion, education, determination, support, and to lead by example. He simply loves this business and it a lifestyle for him, one he is very proud of.
Jamie Blom: Vice President: has been in this industry since 2002. She brings an intuitive- understanding and compassion of people, customer needs and staff needs. She has asocial work background and sales experience, for over 28 years. Jamie also came from a family that was involved in this industry. Jamie has great business instincts; she works hard to make the company a fun and friendly place to be. This attitude can overflow and to our customers letting them experience the same atmosphere.
It is this combination of experience by both partners that make this company unique. Jamie and Andrew believethat customer satisfaction is a definite promise, not just lip service. Andrew and Jamie Blom knew they couldnot take on such a huge task alone. They brought their team members, to meet the MacKay team members. The two teams became one team and through this process became MacKay Advanced Energies. This name covered all the processes that were already in place and the new technology and training that was to come.
We are now one very strong dedicated team that is made up of small families brought together toform one larger family. We are proud of our commitment to each other and to the families we work for. We have some Fathers and sons, sisters, mothers, and sister in law’s, long time friends who have all chosen to make a family. We have a great dedication to each other and to the industry. Our work is our passion and we take great pride in what we do and how we do it. Our individual work in each area of the company is our signature of excellence.
